Digital Image Naming and Sizing Guidelines

Digital Images submitted to competition should be named using the following example:

n_b_01_FirstName LastName_Title of Image.jpg

The First character represents the category your are entering the image in, the second character is the division you compete in, and the number is the image number for the year from 01-12. Please be sure to include the underscore (_) between fields and a space between words in your name and title.

Categories:
A-Action
C-Creative
J-Photojournalism
N-Nature
P-Pictorial
T-Portrait

Divisions:
B-Bronze
S-Silver
G-Gold
D-Diamond

For example. I am a Diamond category photographer. If I were to enter my first image as a Portrait, titled “Two Neices” the file name of the image would be:

T_D_01_Chris Empey_Two Neices.jpg

Images are to be sized with 1024 pixels being the maximum dimension on the horizontal side of your image and 768 pixels being the maximum dimension on the vertical side of your image and should be in the sRGB colour space for best results.

You may also want to download our handbook, available at http://www.niagarafallscameraclub.org/downloads/?did=14. Finally, last year Terry posted a short document on how competitions are scored. That can be viewed here.
