Adobe will be releasing their latest version of Photoshop Elements on October 30. Amazon.ca is currently pre-ordering the software at very attractive prices.

• Photoshop Elements + Premier Elements (Video Editing) (PC) – $52.99

Unfortunately, at this time the Mac versions are still regular price.

I have not yet tried Photoshop Elements 8 but my experience with previous versions (I own 1-5 and have used 6 and 7 at work) is that it will meet just about all of your photo needs.  Adobe offers a free trial on their website.  You can find that at http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopelwin/?promoid=BPDEM
